A Special Night

This is one of my favorite hiking trails and so I have gone here fairly often. As I arrived on this day to my surprise a sign read that this particular day was the final day of this particular trail; the trailhead was being rerouted. This caused me to walk along it in a somewhat nostalgic fashion. Although I would still be able to see this mountain, the specific plants and various scenes I had come to know so well would soon be different. As sunset approached, magic began to appear in the sky. Clouds assembled where they had not bee only minutes before and a stunning spectacle of color was all around me. I felt grateful, and that this was a very special night to be there.
